FEEd is scheduled for Tuesday, Sept. 23, and will offer faculty and staff a unique opportunity to serve the university community by educating their colleagues about the impact their work has on the broader culture of learning at Western, said Chesney Reich, chair of the FEEd planning committee.
Reich said FEEd is “an opportunity for faculty and staff to model the kind of integrated learning that we expect of our students.
“In order to provide the best educational experiences for our students, we have to be informed about the myriad of opportunities that are available to them,” she said. “Whether it is a research opportunity in a particular department, an internship or co-op experience, or an opportunity to study abroad, faculty and staff need to know what’s available so we can point students in the right direction.”
A wide range of presentation topics are encouraged. Some relevant themes include environmental stewardship and sustainability, campus health and wellness, dealing with campus crises, international partnerships and experiences, beyond-the-classroom learning opportunities, Quality Enhancement Plan implementation, liberal studies advising and teaching online classes.
Presentation formats will include 75-minute workshops, 50-minute workshops and poster presentations.
