North American Women's Letters and Diaries  
A collection of some 150,000 pages of published letters and diaries from women writing from Colonial times to 1950. Represented are all age groups and life stages, all ethnicities, many geographical regions, the famous and the not so famous.  Includes some 300 biographies to enhance the use of the database. A collaborative project of the University of Chicago and Alexander Street Press.

American Women:  A Gateway to Library of Congress Resources for the Study of Women’s History and Culture in the United States
A starting point for those researching topics in U.S. women’s history.  Refers largely to items held by the Library of Congress, but does include some digitized materials and links to online exhibitions and Web broadcasts.  Part of the Library of Congress American Memory project.
