Teaching-Research Award
The Teaching-Research Award program is designed to recognize and promote the linkage between teaching and research or between teaching and creative activities. This award is given as an honor to a faculty member to confirm the role of teaching and research and/or creative activities as part of the University's mission.
Award
- The recipient will receive $1000.
Eligible
- All full-time tenured and tenure-track faculty members.
Ineligible
- Recipients for the last 5 year.
Application:
- Deadline: First Monday in February
- The material should contain:
- A two page summary statement outlining the contents and results of the course project(s) and the link between research/creative activities and student learning,
- Evidence of how research/creative activities are incorporated into teaching,
- Documentation of student involvement in research/creative activities as part of classroom activities,
- Consistent records involving the link between teaching and research or teaching and creative activities,
- One letter of support from a faculty member and one letter of support from a former student.
- Send application package via email to John Hawes, Project Specialist, Research Administration.
Evaluation:
- An Awards Subcommittee comprised of members of the Research Council will review the portfolios and transmit a recommendation to the Dean of Graduate School and Research. Applications will be evaluated using this form.
