Participants will learn the fundamentals of Value Stream Mapping, and will put those basics into practice with hands-on activities.  The effective use of this tool can aid significantly in improving production or information flow through the identification of non-value-added tasks.  Value Stream Mapping can assist in reducing cycle times in products and processes ranging widely from software development to financial products to traditional manufacturing.  It differs from Six Sigma process mapping in that it incorporates much more information, focuses at a higher level, and includes management and information systems that support the product or process in consideration.
