Artist Emily Thompson to judge student contest
New York sculptor Emily Thompson will show images of her work in a presentation in Room 130 of Western Carolina University’s Fine and Performing Arts Center at 4 p.m. on Tuesday, March 18.
The first in a series of three artists and curators to visit WCU, Thompson also will conduct critiques with graduate students and judge the Annual Undergraduate Student Exhibition.
In addition to her showcase at Western, Thompson’s pieces will appear in two upcoming exhibitions in Beijing, China. She also has exhibited her work in Los Angeles, New York, Brooklyn, Philadelphia and Raleigh.
Funding for this presentation has been provided by the School of Art and Design’s graduate program and the College of Arts and Sciences.
