Computer Labs
The Asheville Graduate Center and WCU provide a computer laboratory in Karpen Hall 036. The laboratory equipment includes 20 Dell Optiplex 745s w/17" monitors. They are linked to the Internet, with access to resources located on the main campus in Cullowhee. This lab is open Monday-Friday from 7:30 AM - 10 PM. Your UNC Asheville One Card provides access to this lab as well as fourteen other computer labs on the UNC Asheville campus. A list of the labs, equipment, and hours is available on the UNC Asheville website for classrooms and labs. NH 008 is an open lab and staffed by lab assistants. Hours include 8 AM - 11PM, Monday-Thursday, 8 AM - 5 PM on Friday, and 12 NOON - 8 PM on Saturday and Sunday. Students planning to save work on a PC must bring a CD or flash drive. The computers are equipped with the Deep Freeze program that deletes new programs and files saved when the computers are re-booted. To set up an account, students will need to type their 92 numbers when asked for an identification number on the One Card homepage. Click on OneWeb Link. All computer labs on campus have Pay for Print. Students must put money on their One Cards to print or use the copiers on campus. Karpen Hall is a wireless building. Students may obtain the username and password for the wireless connectivity from the WCU Asheville office.
