Admission to the M.A.T. Degree Program
MAT applicants must seek licensure in the same subject as their undergraduate major. To be admitted, they need an undergraduate degree in the major of the concentration and must meet the prerequisite requirements of the department housing the concentration.
If your undergraduate degree concentration was NOT art, music, biology, chemistry, English, mathematics, history, or political science, you may not qualify for the MAT. To be sure, you should check with faculty in the department of the concentration to see if you’ll need pre-requisite courses to be admitted (pre-requisite requirements will vary by department and depend on your current credentials).
