Our students meet to share their passion for the written word through a variety of clubs and organizations and gain valuable professional experience working on student publications and participating in internships. In the classroom, their experiences go beyond the traditional curriculum as they undertake extensive class projects that provide opportunities for hands-on learning. 

Through the Visiting Writers Spring Literary Festival, students are exposed to the work of renowned authors from the national and international literary scene through lectures, workshops, and other events. Past guests have included novelist Dorothy Allison, former New York Times journalist Rick Bragg, and slam poet Mayda Del Valle.
