2010 2011 Programs
SITE: CARSAM (Content Area Reading in Science and Mathematics)
This 5-day institute will focus on strategies that enable students in grades 3-12 to cope more effectively with reading and writing in these important content areas. Mountain Biodiversity
A five-day study of the biogeography and biodiversity of the southern Appalachian Mountains. This course will be conducted at the Highlands Biological Station, a year-round biological field station located in Highlands, NC.

Evolution in the Blue Ridge: A Summer Field and Lab Course for Educators
This two-week course will combine lecture, lab experiences, and field work in the spectacular Blue Ridge and Great Smoky Mountains to explore key evolutionary concepts in biology. Intended for K-12 teachers, but all educators are welcome. Click for more course information and for course flyer.
