WCU to offer "Wired Wednesdays," a series of computer software classes
Western Carolina University will offer “Wired Wednesdays,” a series of computer software classes, from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. throughout the spring semester in Room 137 of the Cordelia Camp Building.
Offerings include:
• “Microsoft Excel Basics,” separate sessions on Feb. 6 and again on
Feb. 20.
• “Advanced Microsoft Word,” Feb. 13.
• “Advanced Microsoft Excel,” March 5.
• “Designing Your Free Webpage,” March 12.
• “Powerful Presentations with PowerPoint,” March 19.
• “Unleashing the Power of Google,” March 26 and April 30.
• “Advanced Webpage Design,” April 9.
• “Basic Microsoft Access,” April 16.
• “File Management,” April 23.
Gordon Pike, a retired engineer, is the instructor for the classes.
“Gordon has been working with computers since the days of the giant mainframes,” said Susan Fouts, director of continuing education at WCU. “He’s an expert on office software and new technologies, and he loves teaching others. Participants always have positive comments about attending his classes.”
Workshops are $59 each or $49 if participants register at least two weeks prior to the start of a class.
