Thad Edward Caldwell of Candler graduated from Enka High School in 2005. The son of Janice and Roger Caldwell, he is a senior majoring in education.

From Arden, Caitlin Aileen Cavin graduated from Ashbrook High School in 2005. A junior majoring in education, she is the daughter of Les and Judy Cavin.

Tara Nicole Pacheo of Asheville graduated from Clyde A. Erwin High School in 2002. The daughter of Renate Pacheo, she is a senior majoring in education.

Polly Megan Rudoff, the current secretary and co-chair for membership of the chapter, also is from Asheville. Daughter of Karen Langford and the late David Rudoff, she graduated from Smoky Mountain High School in 2004.

Meredith Rae Hartzog of Lenoir graduated from West Caldwell High School in 2005. The daughter of Lydia Estes, she is a junior majoring in education.

Erica Christine Bowman of Hickory graduated from Alexander Central High School in 2005. The daughter of Daniel and Christine Bowman, she is a junior majoring in education.

From Maiden, Telicia Danielle Decker graduated from Maiden High School in 2005. A junior majoring in education, she is the daughter of Vaunita and Danny Decker.

The purpose of Kappa Delta Pi is to recognize scholarship and to enhance professional development among education majors, including students majoring in communication disorders, at both the undergraduate and graduate levels. Initiation requirements include a 3.0 grade point average for undergraduates, along with formal admission to an education program, and an established record of excellence in each student’s course of study. The Mu Eta chapter has been active on WCU’s campus since 1970.
