The faculty members of the Department of Modern Foreign Languages strongly encourage students to participate in a study abroad program. Being immersed in the language is a fulfilling experience—not only linguistically, but culturally and personally as well. Students may be surprised at how economically feasible study abroad can be. Most forms of financial aid may be applied to these programs. In addition, credits earned abroad generally are transferable.

Before participating in any study abroad program, all students are strongly advised to consult with a faculty advisor in the Department of Modern Foreign Languages. Students also may visit the International Programs and Services office in Belk 183.
