Modern Foreign Languages Second Academic Concentrations
A Second Academic Concentration is an 18-hour course of study, similar to a minor, and is required of students enrolled in the B.S.Ed. program in elementary, middle grades, physical education, or special education.
The Department of Modern Foreign Languages encourages students studying in the College of Education to choose Spanish or German as their Second Academic Concentration. Required courses include:
- 102 (second semester) or equivalent;
- intermediate courses 231-232 or 240 or equivalent;
- 301 and 302;
- and one course (three hours) at the upper division level.
