WCU to offer "Learning for Fun: Shag Dancing"
Western Carolina University will offer “Learning for Fun: Shag Dancing” from 7 to 8:30 p.m. on Mondays Nov.19 through Dec.10 in Room 204 of Breese Gym.
“The shag was declared North Carolina’s official popular dance in 2005,” said Carroll Brown, class instructor and assistant professor of hospitality and tourism at Western. “This class provides a way to have fun learning the dance in an informal, casual atmosphere.”
Pre-registration is required. The cost of the class is $40 for those registering by Nov. 5 or $45 for those registering after Nov. 5.
No partner is required, but participants may bring one if they prefer.
