An influential painter known around the world, Wangdi initiated the appreciation of contemporary art in Bhutan, and in 2003 was the country’s representative at Japan’s triennial art exhibition at the Fukuoka Asian Art Museum. Although formally trained in England as a painter, Wangdi also has experience in graphic design and crafts management.
Wangdi will show a slide presentation of his work at 2:15 p.m. in Room 130 of the Fine and Performing Arts Center. A reception and question-and-answer session will follow the presentation.
Wangdi’s visit is sponsored by the School of Art and Design Visiting Artist Fund and the College of Fine and Performing Arts.
