Last Minute Productions at Western Carolina University will host a performance by actor and comedian Jamie Kennedy at the Ramsey Regional Activity Center at 7:30 p.m. Friday, Oct. 26.
Winner of a 1998 Blockbuster Best Supporting Actor Award, Kennedy is best known for his role as the movie buff in Wes Craven’s “Scream” movie trilogy, as well as for his self-titled comedy show “The Jamie Kennedy Experiment,” which aired for three seasons on the WB television network. He also has appeared in “Romeo and Juliet,” “As Good As It Gets,” “Bowfinger,” “Boiler Room,” “Robots,” “Three Kings,” “Enemy of the State” and “Malibu’s Most Wanted.”
Kennedy’s Oct. 26 performance, titled “Unwashed: The Stand-Up Special,” will follow opening act Flip Shultz. Shultz has performed stand-up acts throughout the United States, including performances alongside Dave Chapelle, Jeff Dunham, Damon Wayans, “Weird Al” Yankovic and Bob Nelson.
“Last Minute Productions wanted to provide something different for the students and campus community,” said Katie Rath, vice president of marketing for LMP, the student-run entertainment and activities programming organization at WCU. “So far we’ve seen positive reactions from students and community members. It’s going to be a great – and hilarious – show.”
