
Larry and Elaine Conger will be your hosts at 7th Annual Dulcimer Winter Weekend. Larry was the 1998 National Mountain Dulcimer Champion and is known for his melodic and well-engineered arrangements and his clear teaching style. He is the author of eight books of his dulcimer arrangements and numerous recordings. Elaine is a degreed music educator who has a passion for sharing her love for the arts. Her years as a professional musician include playing keyboards and singing back-up vocals for country artist Faith Hill.

Join hosts Elaine & Larry Conger for the 7th Annual Dulcimer Winter Weekend at Lake Junaluska sponsored by Western Carolina University. Workshops will be offered for all kinds of dulcimers: mountain, hammer, and bowed. Participants will be free to select from classes offered on all three instruments in addition to guitar, a new offering for this year. Featured instructors on mountain dulcimer include Anne Lough, Joe Collins, and Larry Conger (Joe & Larry both former Mountain Dulcimer Champions, 2007 & 1998 respectively); hammer dulcimer with Ruth Smith and Anne Lough; guitar with Steve Smith. Additional elective classes will be offered by Marsha Harris, Jim Miller (our resident "Master of the Jam!"), Dr. Will Peebles, and Larry and Elaine, who will also lead the ensemble class.
