About ERIC
ERIC is an essential resource for education research.  It is an internet-based digital library of education research sponsored by the U.S. Department of Education.  It provides access to more than a million annotated references, indexed since 1966, including, journal articles; books; and a range of research, technical and policy reports.

Reports are usually available online in full text.  Older reports can be accessed in microfiche format; please ask for Ask a Librarian for help with viewing and printing older reports.   Reports are assigned an ED number.  Example:  ED493765

Access to the full-text of journal articles is available through the Library Catalog.  Journal articles are assigned an EJ number.  Example:  EJ752457

There are two different ERIC search interfaces available to WCU students and faculty.  It is important to understand the features of both.  The single most important thing for WCU education researchers to know about ERIC is that the full text of most items is either available to you or can be ordered through Interlibrary Loan
