Adam Love '99
Degree: B.A. in Theatre

Profession: Project Manager/Scenic Carpenter/Install Technician with Precision Scenic, Charlotte, N.C. The company produces theatrical scenery for cruise ships, amusement parks, and trade shows.

Work: I am responsible for determining timeframes and budgets for projects. I also create production drawings for the fabrication of scenery.

Why Western? I selected Western because I didn't want to have to ride the bus to class or be in a lecture hall with five hundred other people. I also wanted to be in the mountains rather than the beach or even in the middle of Any City, U.S.A.

Your Western experience: Western became home for me. The people and the places were new and exciting; the time I spent there will be unrivaled and irreplaceable in the future.

How did your studies contribute to your career choice? My studies at Western gave me the strong sense of confidence I needed to do theatrical work after school. [They] gave me a conceptual basis for the real-world application of theories and textbook information.

Advice for students: Enjoy it! College is a flash in the pan that you'll only see once. After it's over, walk with pride in what you've accomplished by earning a degree.

Into the future: My future vision involves family and security. I intend to continue working in theatre, and I also plan to support my wife in her goals.
