The College of Education and Allied Professions is actively involved with promoting technological competence, awareness and skill-building throughout our educational programs, emphasizing the benefits that technology can bring to classrooms by promoting active, participatory learning. Our philosophy of using technology effectively, efficiently and wisely permeates all levels of integration and is also reflected in our college's conceptual framework and strategic plan for instructional technology.

We are excited in implementing a set of national technology standards for our teacher education candidates applying for initial North Carolina state teaching licensure. These standards, titled NETS-T (National Educational Technology Standards for Teachers), are integrated throughout the candidate's work in our programs and encompass a broad set of competencies directly applicable to the support of teaching and learning.
