Since its premiere in 1948, Cole Porter’s Kiss Me Kate has been recognized as one of the masterpieces of the Broadway stage. Based on The Taming of the Shrew, the musical’s ingenious plot shows the dramatic offstage lives of the actors and how they spill out onto the stage in performances of Shakespeare’s comic play. With such classic numbers as “So In Love Am I,” “Too Darn Hot,” “Brush Up Your Shakespeare,” “I Hate Men,” and “Another Op'nin, Another Show,” Porter’s timeless score will thrill you just as it has audiences for six decades! Perfect for the entire family.

“Does this play make me look fat?”

A love story about the imposibility of love, Reasons to be Pretty centers on four young working class friends and lovers who become increasingly dissatisfied with their dead-end lives and each other. From the Playwright Neil LaBute, Reasons to be Pretty follows The Shape of Things and Fat Pig as the final installment of a trilogy that focuses on modern day obsession with physical appearance and the hopelessness of romance. This contemporary drama continues LaBute’s talent for “some of the freshest and most illuminating American dialogue to be heard anywhere these days.” – NY Times. “It is tight, tense, and emotionally true, and it portrays characters who actually seem part of the world that the rest of us live in.” – Time Magazine. For mature audiences.

Six short comedies (with two additional works from the STATENISLANDFERRYplays) representing some of the best of the Atrainplays, a daredevil theater project in which playwrights created new work from scratch during the course of a single ride. All of the plays take place inside a single subway car on the A Train, one of New York’s most famous subway lines, or on the deck of the Staten Island Ferry -- from a groom-to-be to a homeless woman to a monstrous squid. Alternately hilarious and deeply human, the Atrainplays hum with the relentless energy of their namesake.
