Who am I?
I come from Hillsborough, N.C., an historic county seat near Chapel Hill and Durham, where I graduated from Orange High School. I came to Western as a student-athlete and earned my bachelor’s degree in sport management. I worked in Atlanta for a while and recently returned to Western to lead our campaign to recruit greater numbers of African American, Native American, Latino, and Asian students and others from historically underrepresented groups. I also keep busy studying for my master’s in college student personnel.
Why Western?
Quite frankly, I chose Western because it afforded opportunities other schools simply could not. I really warmed up to the sense of family and community values that seem to be a part of living in a small mountain town like Cullowhee. Also, the academic programs in which I was interested were fully accredited. I honestly can look back and be thankful for the many opportunities that Western provided me. From Kappa Alpha Psi fraternity to Catamount football and the Sport Management Student-Porfessional Associated, I had a well-rounded experience at this wonderful university!
