Who Am I?
As a child I lived all over the Southeast. However, I can claim legitimately to be a native of western North Carolina because I was born in Asheville. I graduated from Gardner-Webb University in 2000 with a Bachelor of Arts degree in communication studies. Since then, I wore a few professional hats before finding my true calling in higher education. I have worked in the university setting for about three years and have been at Western for one and a half years. However, my Western roots go much deeper since my dad is an alumnus. Our family still spends a lot of time here, drawn by the many events held in Cullowhee.
Why Western Carolina University?
Once you see Western’s campus for yourself, you’ll never have to ask this question again. It is, by far, one of the most beautiful campuses I have ever seen! In addition to its appealing mountain atmosphere, we are home to award-winning faculty members and an unsurpassed transfer-admission program. Western is deeply committed to staying on top of the latest and greatest technology and “keeping up with the times,” so to speak. The programs Western offers are among the best in the country. Anyone would be proud to call themselves a Catamount! (Including you!)
