Summer 2008

Western Carolina University Chancellor John W. Bardo presided over commencement exercises for 355 students at the university’s Ramsey Regional Activity Center on Friday, Aug. 1.

A total of 57 undergraduate students received academic honors. Eleven graduated summa cum laude (with highest honors), 30 graduated magna cum laude (with high honors), and 15 graduated cum laude (with honors).

Elyse Nicole Jardine of Sylva was designated a University Scholar for completing her entire undergraduate career at WCU with a grade-point average of 3.90 or better.
