Silverman, a Nashville artist with an eclectic style, was named artist-in-residence in the city of Hamburg, Germany, and currently is on tour with Jim Brickman. Silverman also often plays for audiences in Brazil.
Following in the series will be a performance by the local rock n roll band Cooking with Quanta on Thursday, July 12. The groups repertoire consists of original tunes and choice covers, and its members frequently perform at venues in Sylva.
Hope Massive, an international roots group, will take the stage on Tuesday, July 17. The five-piece band combines roots and vintage dancehall music for a one-of-a-kind sound.
Next in the series is Scott Celani, melodic pop artist, on Thursday, July 19. A performer across the United States and Canada, Celani plays his original, acoustic, solo hits and also plays with a full band.
All series performances begin at 7 p.m. on the lawn in front of the A.K. Hinds University Center. Lawn chairs and blankets are encouraged. In case of rain, concerts will move inside to Club Illusions. Shows are free and open to the public.
Due to travel dilemmas, the previously announced performance of The Cassidy Brothers on July 26 has been cancelled. A replacement performance will be announced at a later date.
