Standard US government statistical resource.
Social Work Almanac
Largely gathered from US sources, but textual explanations are provided to explain the data. Although this is volume is dated, the tables can often be updated through US government statistical websites.

A great statistical resource on children provided by the Annie E. Casey Foundation. Contains profiles of each state, allows state by state comparison, and raw data can be downloaded for further analysis.
