Our engineering and technology programs prepare you for a broad range of career choices that are rewarding and lucrative. Whether you choose an engineering or technology program depends on the kind of work you really enjoy:

Engineering is a challenging course of study. You will need a love for math and science, disciplined study habits (even if you haven’t needed them before!), and a willingness to explore new frontiers and learn from your mistakes. You will have opportunities to use your mind to find creative solutions to challenges facing our society.

Engineering technologists are employed across the technological spectrum and are best suited to applications, manufacturing, production, implementation, engineering operation, and sales rather than the conceptual design and research functions performed by many engineering graduates.

Engineering technologists often work with engineers as part of an engineering project team. While engineers plan and design engineering projects, engineering technologists translate the engineer’s designs into actual products.

To become an engineering technologist, you must earn a baccalaureate in engineering technology. Some of our students earn an associate's degree in engineering technology at a two-year college and then transfer as a junior to our baccalaureate program. Our distance learning program makes this goal attainable for working individuals.
