Newport RS2000 and RS4000 Optical Tables
The several Newport RS2000 and RS4000 Optical Tables are designed for interferometry and high-resolution experiments. They combine a rigid trussed, honeycomb core with Newport’s highest level of tuned damping for extremely sensitive measurements requiring maximum vibration control. Their combined features include:
- Selectively eliminate torsional and bending table modes
- Individually tuned by trained vibration analysts
- Allow adjustable levels of damping
- Only effective damping for large table systems
- Produce secondary broadband damping at higher frequencies
- Damped work surface eliminates skin resonance
- Damped composite edge finish eliminates side wall resonance
- Constrained layer core damping attenuates broadband vibration modes
- Truss bridges honeycomb cell to increase the stiffness-to-weight ratio of the table
- Vertical bonding of core increases static rigidity
- Triple core interface increases point loading capability
