Academic Programs
Through our academic programs our students become hands-on problem solvers, involved in projects throughout their course of study. In their careers, engineers plan and design engineering projects while engineering technologists translate the engineer’s designs into actual products. Browse the programs below and choose a major, minor, or graduate program based on what you really like to do.

Engineering Technology: Our ET program offers B.S. and M.S. degrees, a minor in telecommunications, and certifications in engineering sales and distribution and occupational safety.  The Distance Learning Program enables individuals employed in business, industry and state related occupations to pursue a B.S. in engineering technology through part-time evening study and a combination of live classes supplemented by an online component.

Electrical Engineering: Our electrical engineering program provides a B.S. degree as a joint offering between WCU and UNC-Charlotte. All courses in the degree program are offered on the Cullowhee campus.

Electrical and Computer Engineering Technology: Our ECET program offers a B.S. degree with minors in broadcast telecommunications engineering technology and digital communications engineering technology. All courses in the degree program are offered on the Cullowhee campus.
