Policy for CMC (Curriculum Materials Center) Reserves

Adopted 2-22-07, Effective 3-12-07

  • CMC Reserve materials can be viewed anywhere in the library and with any equipment available in the library.  Some equipment (such as laptops and rooms) might require reservations and/or checkout.
  • CMC Reserve materials are due back in 4 hours or when the library closes, whichever time limit comes first.
  • CMC Reserve materials must be returned to the CMC circulation desk during the hours the CMC floor is open.
  • After the CMC floor is closed, any CMC items (including currently checked out reserve materials) must be returned to the Library’s main circulation desk.  The Hunter Computer Lab is not where library materials should be returned.
  • Headphones must be used when viewing any audiovisual media in Hunter Library.  Individual headphones and patch panels can be checked out with any CMC reserve material.  Patrons will be informed at check out that headphone usage is required when viewing AV reserve materials and that failure to comply with this policy results in the forfeit of the privilege of viewing AV reserve materials in the public area.
  • The main Circulation desk will only check out CMC reserve materials that have been returned to the Circulation desk after the CMC has closed.  Circulation staff will not be required to go to the CMC to retrieve other reserve materials.
  • CMC Reserve materials may not be renewed.
