North Carolina Teacher Incentive Program
Western Carolina University is pleased to announce the North Carolina Teacher Incentive Program (NC TIP). NC TIP awards cover the cost of nonresident tuition (a maximum of four years) for teacher education prospects. The total scholarship package is valued at more than $36,000. In exchange, recipients agree to teach in a North Carolina public school one year for every year that they receive the scholarship.

Scholarship consideration is open to non-residents of North Carolina who are making application to Western Carolina University as entering undergraduate freshmen or transfer students and who plan to major in a teacher certification field of study. Awards will be based upon academic achievement and teaching potential. The priority filing date for submission of all required documentation is February 1. Recipients will receive written notification and be given 30 days to accept or decline the award, at which time alternates will be reconsidered.
