The Photography Portfolio is the capstone course for this concentration. The body of work produced in this course represents an expression of an aesthetic exploration technically executed and presented in a professional manner. Field trips, visiting artists, and studio visits augment the course of study.

Small-, medium- and large-format cameras are available for student use, as well as a fully equipped and monitored black-and-white darkroom for beginners. Individual darkrooms equipped with large and small format enlargers are provided for the advanced students. A state-of-the-art color processor services the individual color darkrooms.

The close proximity to the Smoky Mountain National Park, Blue Ridge Parkway and local natural attractions provide ample opportunity for the student who is interested in photographing the landscape.
