WCU is a University of North Carolina Campus
Message from the Interior Design Program Director
Marc Yops

Our program is starting a new era in design education with the development of wireless technology in the curriculum. We are excited to bring each student an opportunity to evolve academically in the liberal studies concept by offering "choices" within the design program with course offerings from across campus.

The design program starts in the sophomore year and students are only accepted into the interior design program each fall semester. The “learning block” approach assures students of a smooth progression in the learning process. The curriculum has 123 credit hours and, in most cases, students can also complete a minor within their four years at WCU. As always, internships are an integral part of the learning process.

We are pleased to announce that our program has student members of Mortar Board and the Honors College; any course in the curriculum can be adjusted to meet Honors College requirements.

“Choices" is what our program is all about, and one last and very exciting development over the past few years is the establishment of the Travel Studies in Interior Design course. This year marks our sixth annual British Design Experience course in London, England. The city and surrounding countryside is our classroom, and we stay in the heart of London.

In addition, students now have an opportunity to intern or study in London through WCU’s International Programs and Services Study Abroad program.

If you haven’t yet visited the Cullowhee campus, we hope to see you soon. If you just left, come back soon!
