IDES Student Club
Interior Design is funded by the Student Government Association providing free membership to any student on campus interested in Interior Design. The club sponsors such activities as guest speakers from the profession, field trips to showrooms and interaction with the local ASID and NKBA chapters.
IDES Student Advisory Council
The purpose of the Student Advisory Council is to provide a two-way communication with faculty and students as to the expectations of the design program and the profession.
IDES Professional Advisory Council
The purpose of the Professional Advisory Council is to offer support and monitor the professionalism of student progress, currency of the program and projects and provide a balance of educational needs and professional expectations for current and future development. Council members come from the major segments of the design profession, i.e. residential, kitchen & bath, and commercial design, architecture, sales, education and alumni.
FIDER Accreditation
Member since 1996. The Foundation for Interior Design Education Research (FIDER) sets standards for postsecondary interior design education, and evaluates colleges and university interior design programs.
NKBA-Endorsed College Program
Member since 1996. The National Kitchen and Bath Association (NKBA) Endorsed Program was created to serve the professional needs of the industry and ensure consistent, quality education for students who desire to become kitchen/bath design professionals.
