The American Red Cross is encouraging people to make a donation before they go on their summer vacations. “While the need is the greatest during vacation and holiday sessions, donations always decrease,” said Carolyn B. Deal, Jackson County’s donor recruitment representative. All blood types are needed and there is an emergency need for types O and B.
The WCU drive will take place Tuesday, June 5, at the A.K. Hinds University Center from 10 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. To avoid waiting in line, you may schedule an appointment online at http://www.membersforlife.org/cbsr/schedule and enter sponsor code 7836.
All donors will receive a scratch-off card with the opportunity to win an iPod or free music downloads and also will be eligible to enter a drawing to win a $750 gas card.
For more information, contact Deal at (828) 258-3888, extension 137 or (800) 728-9817, extension 137.
