EDCI 231 Historical, Social, and Philosophical Foundations of Education is an introductory course in teacher education and includes at least 16 hours in a K-12 school. During the first few days of the course, the Director of Field Experiences will talk to students in the course to explain the requirement and collect information to place the student in an appropriate setting.
Students are expected to observe professional standards for dress, prompt attendance, and behavior in field experiences as guests in host schools.
EDCI 231 Historical, Social, and Philosophical Foundations of Education is the course where students will be made aware of requirements for admission to teacher education and have an opportunity to meet some of the admission criteria stated in the previous section.
