"...Last week's discussion with President Bowles at the Joint meeting of Education and A&S Deans re-emphasized the importance of "rationalizing your programs" and realigning resources to create greater efficiencies in teacher/administrator preparation and development on each campus. This cannot be accomplished without campus leadership involvement and we appreciate the updates many of you have provided to Dr. Thompson and I on campus discussions that have taken place so far.
Because it is critically important that every campus follow through on this important task, we are requesting that a letter be prepared and submitted to Dr. Thompson that addresses the following: 1.) outlines the process that has taken place on your campus to "rationalizing your program," and 2.) identifies efficiencies and realignment of resources that are either being discussed or that you intend to implement. The Provost and Arts & Sciences Dean should at a minimum be copied to this letter. You may choose to submit the letter from the leadership team that has been involved in the campus discussions (Chancellors, Provosts, A&S Deans, Education Deans, etc.). Please submit your letter to Dr. Richard Thompson with a carbon copy to Alisa Chapman by Friday, March 17th..."
