The 42nd Annual Symposium on Recent Research allows researchers to present the latest findings about the Minnesota Multiphasic Personality Inventory, the most widely used personality test in the psychology field. Drerup’s paper, titled “Use of the RC Scales in a Complex Neuropsychological Patient Sample,” will be one of only 17 papers presented orally at the conference in Fort Lauderdale, Fla., April 14-15.

“Lauren has been formally accepted to eight clinical psychology doctoral programs, and I predict she will end up with close to 10 acceptances to select from,” said David McCord, head of the psychology department at Western.

Drerup said she has benefited from the research emphasis in Western’s master’s program in psychology, in which she has co-authored 12 research projects. “I would not be where I am today if it had not been for the academic and professional development opportunities that the psychology department at WCU provided,” she said.

Drerup is the daughter of Lawrence and Shari Drerup of Alexandria, La., and is a graduate of Louisiana College.
