EDPY 693 Special Topics: School Improvement and Accreditation

This course is an online telecommunications course conducted on-site at your school, or at alternative convenient locations. School teams participating in this course will receive instructional assistance and direction in school improvement directly related to the accreditation process. We recommend that teams be made up of faculty members, administrative staff and board member(s).

Course Location Options
This course will be offered in an online format. However, it will be needoutreachary for participants to receive three to five days of instruction, which represents one-third of the total course, prior to the online activity. The initial portion of the course will be delivered at individual school sites.

Course Description
This course will address school improvement and accreditation utilizing the continuous school improvement process recommended by current SACS literature.

Participants will:

  • EnVISION the school's path
  • Complete a PROFILE of their school
  • Develop a PLAN for the future direction of the school
  • Review the RESULTS of the school's progress.

In compiling an ACTION PLAN FOR IMPROVEMENT course participants will be preparing for fulfilling the requirements of their SACS self-study/accreditation visit.

Costs
Program costs will be determined in accordance with the location chosen and by the number of credit participants. In addition to tuition costs, credit participants will be required to complete a graduate school application and pay the $40 admissions application fee.
