Entrance Counseling and Master Promissory Note
Direct Loan Entrance Counseling and a master promissory note (MPN) must be completed before your loan can pay to your bill. The entrance counseling process explains the obligations you agree to meet as a condition of receiving a Federal Direct Loan. The MPN is your loan contract. Federal PLUS Loan borrowers must complete an MPN, but entrance counseling is not required.
Perkins Loan recipients must complete a separate entrance counseling process. An MPN will be mailed to the student for completion.
