The legislation enacted by the North Carolina General Assembly that established the Tuition Surcharge did not grant institutions any local discretion to include or exclude credit hours or semesters of attendance from the Tuition Surcharge. There is no procedure for appeal.
Students who have been assessed a surcharge and who believe their surcharge is inaccurate should download and complete the Tuition Surcharge Worksheet online at http://surcharge.wcu.edu/. The worksheet will determine if a surcharge is owed and verify the amount due.
Concerns regarding accuracy of the surcharge calculation should be directed to the Registrar's Office.
