“A Glow in the Dark Adventure" will hit the stage at 3 p.m. Sunday, Nov. 15, at the Fine and Performing Arts Center on the campus of Western Carolina University.

A dinosaur discovers the meaning of love in a “glow-in-the-dark” theater experience onstage at 3 p.m. Sunday, Nov. 15, at the Fine and Performing Arts Center on the campus of Western Carolina University.

A production of Corbian Visual Arts and Dance of New Orleans, “A Glow in the Dark Adventure” is the story of a dinosaur brought to life by a scientist who sends his creation into the world to experience life. After a series of encounters, the dinosaur must take action when his creator’s life is in danger.

In this innovative production, characters are created with flexible electroluminescent wire and manipulated by performers on a pitch-black stage. Crayon-like creatures light the stage with a combination of dance, puppetry and storytelling.

This show is appropriate for children 5 years and older. WCU’s own Smoky Mountain Brass Quintet will provide the evening’s opening entertainment.

This is the fifth installment of the Galaxy of Stars “Sundays in the ’PAC” 2009-10 season.  Next up are the North Carolina Symphony’s “Holiday Pops” concert on Dec. 11 and “The Clown Princes,” scenes and music from classic silent films, on Jan. 31.

Tickets cost $25 for the general public; $20 for WCU faculty and staff and people 60 years and older; and $5 for students ages 5 and older.
