WCU hosts Disc Golf Field Day for physical education teachers
10/22/2009 - Western Carolina University will host a Disc Golf Field Day for physical education teachers in Western North Carolina from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Friday, Oct. 23.
About 30 teachers are expected to participate in the event, which is sponsored by the Professional Disc Golf Association and hosted by WCU’s health, physical education and recreation department.
“Our objective is to educate physical education teachers on the health, physical fitness, sportsmanship and environmental stewardship benefits of disc golf,” said Justin Menickelli, associate professor and director of the health, physical education and recreation graduate program. Menickelli and WCU instructor Chris Tuten will lead the Disc Golf Field Day activities.
