The American Society for Engineering Education has appointed Ken Burbank, head of the department of engineering and technology at Western Carolina University, to serve as an interim director of the national Engineering Technology Council.
Burbank (pictured standing), who is filling the unexpired term of Timothy Brower of the Oregon Institute of Technology, will serve as an interim director of the council until June.
Ken Burbank is exactly the kind of person we want working within the ETC to lead engineering technology in the future, said Thomas M Hall Jr., chair of the council.
The Engineering Technology Council of ASEE is the national organization that speaks for engineering technology education, and advocates for quality education and creative endeavors in engineering technology.
A member of the WCU faculty since 2001, Burbank guides the department of engineering and technology, which is part of the Kimmel School of Construction Management and Technology.
