Student Service Corps
The Catamount Student Service Corps is a new initiative – organized in conjunction with the Federal Work-Study Program – that engages Western Carolina University students in leadership roles in programs and projects organized by the Center for Service Learning.
Members of the Service Corps are assigned significant tasks, including:
- participating in service-learning orientation sessions
- leading service-learning reflection sessions
- representing the Center for Service Learning at University Open Houses and Information Fairs
- functioning as site leaders for Days of Service
- assisting with organizing the Alternative Break Program
- helping to coordinate the Campus Kitchen Garden Project
- serving as liaisons with community agencies
