Batting is a thick cotton. Binding is backing brought to front. Backing is a pink-dyed feedsack with trademark "Earle Chesterfield Co./Asheville, NC/Miracle Minerals/100 lb. Wt/24% Dairy Ration."

History/Comments : The Monteiths' father, Elias, and his brother, Sam, operated a mercantile store near the present site of the Jackson Manufacturing Co, formerly Meade Corporation until the business failed several years later. Elias farmed a few years before becoming postmaster for the Dillsboro Post Office until his retirement. Edna, the oldest daughter, was the clerk at the Dillsboro Post Office for 45 years. Edith never worked away from home and lived in the three-story house located in Dillsboro until she died in 2001.
