Date Range: 1900-1930

Fabric Type and Color: Cotton prints. Navy & white, red & black, black & white, faded green, etc. Some woven plaids. Notice the recurring small squares of a blue on white print that simulates a copper-plate printed toile.

Quilt Size: 54" x 77"

Block Size: 15" x 14"

Construction: Pieced by hand. Binding front to back. Backing is an Alamance Plaid. Hand quilting in a fan all over at 6 stitches to the inch showing on top.

Quiltmaker: Eunice Leona Taylor Hall (b 24 July 1868 in Buncombe County, d 23 Apr 1921; married Henry Steven Hall)

Locale: Buncombe County, NC

History/Comments: This pattern, one of a series of state blocks, appeared in Hearth & Home Magazine and other farm magazines published by Vickery & Hill in Augusta, Maine (1907-1912)
