Dr. Scott Rader Biography

Dr. Scott Rader has over 15 years of corporate and entrepreneurial work experience in the areas of information technology, digital marketing design and development, customer communications and relationship management, and marketing research.  Career highlights include pioneering pre-internet real-time customer relations chat and forum tools for Prodigy online service, establishing marketing research and executive education programs for PricewaterhouseCoopers in Southeast Asia, and leading the development, launch, and customer support for Sprinks, an online pay-per-click advertising application ultimately integrated into the Google AdWords system.

During his corporate career, Dr. Rader continually engaged the professional, academic, and non-profit communities by working as a business journalist, technology and marketing instructor, invited speaker at IT/CRM career workshops, expert panelist on electronic media and digital copyright, and radio disc jockey.  He has lived, worked and conducted research in New York city, Minnesota, Mexico, Japan, Philippines and Vietnam for firms including IBM, Prodigy, About.com, 3M, Sprint Wireless, and PricewaterhouseCoopers.  During his graduate studies, he was principal and marketing consultant for two start-up businesses in Nha Trang, Vietnam.

Dr. Rader received his PhD and MBA, both with concentrations in Marketing, from the College of Business Administration at the University of Tennessee in Knoxville.  He received his Bachelor of Arts degree in communications/Media Studies with a minor in Asian Studies from the State University of New York at Purchase College.  He has taught business students at both the undergraduate and graduate levels in courses including marketing communications technology, social media strategy, integrated marketing communications, global marketing strategy, web site design, and multimedia development.  Dr. Rader is a published researcher, focusing on consumer experience and interaction with mobile technology devices (i.e., "gadgets"), consumer fantasy experience, corporate social responsibility, and cross-cultural consumer behavior.  He enjoys listening to and creating electronic and guitar-based experimental music.
