** CMEM 461 ADVANCED DIRECTING: Students will examine commercials, music videos, and technical films and will form crews to shoot one of each. Preq: CMEM 450
** ADVANCED CINEMATOGRAPHY: Use of High Definition Camcorder and recorder operations in professional HD formats. Emphasis on advanced camera and lighting techniques. The course will feature the working style of commercials. Preq: CMEM 435 plus permission of instructor.
** ENGL 368 THE FIRST SEASON: Examines the first season of a network television series. How the tone, style, and characters evolve as the series finds its voice. An in-depth analysis of the creative process as tempered by the needs of the industry and audience. No preq.
** ENGL 493 WRITING THE SERIES: Pitch, outline, write, and revise an hour-long episode for a pre-existing TV series . Students highly encourage to take ENGL 368 concurrently. Preq: ENGL 310 or permission of instructor. Note: This course is the prerequisite for the spring 08 course; Writing the Pilot. In fall of 2008 we will be writing and shooting episodes of a student-made TV series based on a pilot chosen from that class.
