Project and Corporate Accounting: How and Where the Two Merge

Register Now for our project management courses

(30 PDU)

Have you been wondering how and where your project profits tie into the corporate financial statements? If so, then this course is designed for you. During this six-week online course, you will become familiar with and obtain general knowledge of a balance sheet, an income statement, and a cash flow statement. Once the basics of these corporate statements have been addressed, we will look at the general project accounting practices (CPI and SPI) and how your financial project decisions can positively or negatively affect corporate financial statements. Behind every number there is a story, and most of these stories are fun to discover. The aim of this course is to provide you with the knowledge and insight needed to engage in an educated conversation with the financial department of your company.

Our next course starts June 1, 2009.

Instructor: Stan Veraart, MPM,  PMP®

Environmental Consultant Stan Veraart  has worked around the world on each continent (except Antarctica) in a variety of for-profit and not-for-profit companies as well as for different government agencies and NGO’s. While working in the environmental sector as a project management consultant, Stan realized the importance of finance and, as often is the case, the lack of knowledge and understanding thereof. One of his current main focus areas is increasing awareness about the essential links between project accounting and corporate accounting.  His mission is to help project managers dealing with earned value management accounting practices to better understand how each and every project effects corporate balance sheets, income statements, and cash flow statements. Through his work, Stan hopes to lessen the often-large communication gap between a company’s financial department and the project management office.
